In all equipment that use water, scale is a harmful enemy that requires rigorous maintenance and incurs enormous costs (see the section on scale). In 2001, the absence of a water treatment product that could efficiently control scale buildup prompted VKI to create an effective solution – the Scalehammer.

Following tests in one of the most reputable laboratories in the world – Bodycote Metal Technology - Scalehammer has proven to be effective – not only for commercial coffeemakers applications but also for all other systems that incorporate the circulation of water (see domestic applications and commercial applications).
